Before practicing yoga I experienced fear and a lack of self-confidence – addiction to drugs and alcohol took me over. Yoga has taught me that the change has to occur within, not somewhere out there. Making positive changes can be uncomfortable, but always worth it. I return to my mat to deepen my connection with this process of uncovering, discovering and discarding all that isn’t me, so that I can live happily and teach others how to connect with this beautiful gift that has been given to me. Join me in finding freedom through surrender!

Yoga Teacher
I started practicing yoga over a decade ago, doing 5-10 minute YouTube videos with the goal of alleviating chronic neck pain. Basically, I’d do this yoga thing until I got better and then move on. I grew up playing competitive sports and was convinced that yoga was not for me because a.) I was far too competitive with zero chill and b.) far too inflexible to be a yogi. But the practice had other plans for me.
In 2020 I completed my 200 hours and began teaching online to friends and family. It is not an understatement to say yoga has and continues to change my life. In 2023, I made the leap from working 9-5 to teaching yoga and pilates full time.
My classes are challenging but accessible to all levels, and I love making playlists to match the energy of the practice. My hope is that this practice empowers you both on and off the mat to be your full, unapologetic self. I am so grateful to be part of the Solfire community and move with you.

Yoga Teacher
I landed in my first heated power vinyasa yoga class in 2011 because I was a long-time runner entering middle age who couldn’t touch my toes. I was the classic “I’m not flexible enough to do yoga” type. I thought I needed a good stretch. What I’ve learned? Yoga stretches and strengthens me in more ways than I can describe. Breathing and flowing and moving on my mat transforms my perspective and helps me find greater clarity and peace. On my mat I find space to connect with my spirit–that part of me often clouded or overcome by thoughts and “things to do.” I value how aspects of yogic philosophy support what I believe and how I have been raised: to serve others, to have faith, and to think critically. I believe in God (a power greater than me at work within me and around me) and to do my best to live a principled life. My hope is to create a class where you are challenged to breathe deeply, build strength, flow and find space to feel and connect to yourself and whatever you need on your own mat.
I am grateful for many yoga teachers who have helped me grow in my knowledge of sharing this practice as a yoga instructor: Stephanie Snyder, Tias Little, Baron Baptiste, Michelle Marlahan and many others. Their knowledge and understanding of yoga movement and meditation inspire me. So do all of the Solfire teachers! Our Solfire teaching team is an awesome blend of many different influences and styles of vinyasa yoga. I am equally grateful for my family— my husband and my two grown sons who make me laugh and smile and who remind me to have fun and not to take myself too seriously, and my parents who I count among my closest friends. They have shown me endless support throughout my entire life journey.

Yoga TeacherI went to my very first yoga class in Dallas, TX in 2007. In that first week I knew I wanted to teach yoga. I didn’t know how or when but I knew that was what I wanted to do. I finally made it happen in 2014 and it has been the most life changing experience of my life. Yoga has taught me so many beautiful things over the years… how to listen, to be present, to breathe. Yoga has prepared me for the current season of my life as a Mom - the highs are high and the lows can be low, but I always make my way back to me. I love this practice through and through and love sharing it even more. My classes are grounding & steady and at the same time energetic and fun!

Yoga Teochern & Front Desk Lead
When I moved back to Sacramento after college, I started taking vinyasa classes with my sister, Alex. We grew up doing classical ballet together since we were 3 and 4 years old, so moving in unison, breathing, feeding off each other’s energy, and spending time together made this practice so inviting.
I didn’t know how life-changing and saving yoga would be for me until I started working at Solfire. The more I started to show up, the more I learned that these poses are teaching me lessons that extend beyond my mat a hundred times. Yoga has given me the scaffolding to build deep trust in my mind and body. It offers me an opportunity to be of service and connect to something greater than myself. And most importantly, staying committed to my practice allows me to show up in the world as a more loving, grounded, and compassionate person.
You’ll definitely see me around the studio, either at the front desk or in class. I’m always that person in class trying new things, laughing, being dramatic, and falling on my face. Solfire is truly my home away from home.

After spending years healing from military trauma, yoga helped me get comfortable in my body again! I started teaching in 2022 after taking yoga teaching training here at Solfire.
My classes are challenging, empowering, and supportive. I like to create an experience with powerful sequences, dynamic playlists, and fire energy.
I love nature, animals, and laughing. My outlook on life, career, and movement is that everyone is always doing their best, as we also desire to grow and learn.

Yoga Teacher
Janna began practicing yoga in 2009 and teaching in 2010. After her first yoga class, she found healing and a life transforming journey on her mat and she immediately knew she wanted to share the amazing gifts she’d been given by her teachers. Janna lives in Sacramento with her two boys where she teaches middle school and high school science to teachers and students. Janna is inspired by love, friendship, music, God, children and animals. Her classes are challenging, fun and soulful. Janna believes that life can be challenging and so should our yoga practice. This way students can see just how strong and powerful they truly are when they meet their edge. Janna's intention for every class it that of empowerment and possibility for all students. Janna believes we are so much stronger than we know and If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you!

I found yoga when I was in college but wasn't consistent until spring of 2021 when I finished school. My passion led me to take training at Solfire last fall! My background is in classical ballet (14 years) so movement has always been part of my life, but when I first found this practice I could just feel it was for me. Yoga allows me to observe my ever-changing mind and tune into my breath while I place my body into challenging positions. I’ve learned that the hardest part about yoga is willingness. The willingness to move into the uncomfortable so that one day it will be comfortable and that’s what we call growth. Outside of yoga, I work as a grocery store clerk! I am the assistant manager of the floral department and assistant bookkeeper. I hope to see you in one of my classes!

Yoga Teacher
I started practicing yoga in 2010 at McKinley Park. It was an amazing introduction to people of all walks of life, and all levels of experience. I joined a studio, participated in my 1st teacher training, and was hooked.
Now I’m grateful to be a part of this beautiful Solfire community.
As an elementary school teacher, I’ve realized we’re all students with limitless opportunities. We’re never too old or too young to start learning. (Just ask my 8-year-old students who remind me we need to stop and breathe.) The practice has challenged and supported me while I doubted myself or spent hours spinning in my head. As a “work in progress” I continue showing up to move and to breathe, so I can reconnect to myself. My hope as a yoga teacher is to challenge and encourage my students. We don’t know how powerful we are until we say YES to what makes us uncomfortable.
Yoga reminds us each time we lay in savasana, we begin again. Over and over, we come back to what’s important. Each moment invites us to show up for ourselves so we can be more present for the world around us.

I started to dabble in yoga in 2010 and became very consistent in my practice when I discovered Solfire in 2016. I was initially drawn to yoga for the physical benefits (finally some relief for my lower back pain!), and only realized several years later that I had built strength, power, and grace -- physically, mentally and emotionally.
I took a break from yoga during the pandemic and was both humbled and inspired when I returned to my mat. Humbled because I had lost not only my physical strength but also my ability to find peace, breathe deeply, and be present enough to turn off my anxieties and my to-do list throughout the challenges of a yoga class. Inspired because I realized the tremendous impact that yoga had made on my life, and now finally, here was an opportunity to help others just like the teachers in my life have helped me. I completed teacher training here at Solfire in fall 2021 and I'm honored to create space for people to have an experience with themselves, to grow as a result of physical challenges, and to quiet their mind - if only for a moment - and find peace.

Yoga Teacher
I found yoga in 2014 as part of a quest for physical wellness. I quickly came to appreciate the practice of yoga for much more than its physical benefits. Yoga and its amazing community have truly changed my life.
The practice has made me stronger and more flexible not only in my physical form, but emotionally and spiritually. I’m much better equipped to show up as my authentic self in all aspects of my daily life. It has strengthened my relationship with myself and everyone around me.
I believe so much in this practice that I've developed a strong desire to share it with others in the hopes that we all can embrace the influx of courage, perseverance, patience and peace that yoga brings into our lives.
